The Taste of Freedom

The Taste of Freedom is a Ukrainian romantic comedy directed by Oleksandr Berezan. It follows Varvara, a young cook who leaves her small town for Lviv in pursuit of her dream of becoming a chef at a prestigious restaurant. Her journey takes an unexpected turn when she discovers a 1929 cookbook by Olga Franko, a legendary figure in Ukrainian culinary history.

Blending romance, comedy and Ukrainian culinary heritage, the film explores self-discovery, ambition and the rediscovery of cultural roots through food. The film stars Iryna Kudashova as Varvara and Irma Vitovska as Olga Franko.
